When Nothing Else Could Help
Today’s Devotion:
When Nothing Else Could Help
When Gael Salcedo, 18, from Iowa, lost control of his Jeep as he drove across a bridge, he found himself and his vehicle plunging into freezing water. “I just didn’t know what to do. I was just thinking in my head ‘I think I’m going to die,’” he said. Gael frantically searched for his phone, but couldn’t find it. That’s when he instinctively shouted, “Hey Siri, call 911.” The voice activation worked, and firefighters arrived shortly to rescue him from the icy Winnebago River.[1]
If you are sinking in sin with no apparent help in sight, call out to the Lord. He responds to our voice, and He knows how to rescue us. Joel 2:32 says, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:12 promises, “The same Lord is rich to all who call upon Him.”
Because of the resurrection of Christ, we have forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternity in heaven. The Lord is calling us to Himself, but we have to call upon Him and trust Him for salvation. He will rescue us and bring us to safety.
I was sinking deep in sin. … Love lifted me!

Beyond the Promised Land
This is episode nine from The Account, an original Turning Point Television production that was created to introduce David Jeremiah's teaching series I Never Thought I'd See the Day! Its message remains relevant for us as we are Living in the Age of Signs.
The Account takes you back to the 1960's when the advertising agency of Wyndham Ridgestone landed the most mysterious client in the history of their firm. This shadowy and intimidating Client hires the firm to influence the masses—to sway the behavior of people toward a liberal mindset—to market a moral shift in American culture. The faceless and nameless Client presents ten issues to the advertising firm and employs it to create these morally destructive campaigns.
